The specimens after collection are properly dried, mounted on a paper and properly labeled.
Slide 4 : When a collection of specimens is preserved in a herbarium, the specimens are arranged according to a system of classification of plants.
For this Engler and Prantle's system has been recommended by the International Botanical Congress.
Benthem and Hooker's system of classification of angiosperms is, however, followed in many herbaria including those of the Royal Botanic Garden, Kew, London and also the Central National Herbarium of the Botanical Survey of India. : Benthem and Hooker's system of classification of angiosperms is, however, followed in many herbaria including those of the Royal Botanic Garden, Kew, London and also the Central National Herbarium of the Botanical Survey of India.
