1st & 2nd Conjugation:
-bo -bimus
-bis -bitis
-bit -bunt
3rd & 4th Conjugation:
-am -emus
-es -etis
-et -ent
gero, gerere, gessi, gestum – to manage, to conduct, to wage (war)
For the 3rd Conjugation verbs drop -ěre from the infinitive add the endings above:
Singular Plural
1st person geram gerēmus 2nd person gerēs gerētis 3rd person geret gerent
duco, ducere, duxi, ductum – to lead
ago, agere, egi, actum – to act, give (thanks), lead (a life)
traho, trahere, traxi, tractum – to draw, drag, derive
scribo, scribere, scripsi, scriptum – to write
Remember these vocabulary peculiarities:
animus, -i = mind, spirit when plural it often means = high spirits/ courage/ pride
littera, -ae = letter (when singular = a letter of the alphabet)
when plural = letters; a letter you write to someone, literature
mos, moris = custom, habit when plural = character, morals
Poeta de moribus Romanorum scribebat.
