Moses Lake Youth Hockey Association : Moses Lake Youth Hockey Association Meeting Dec. 3rd 2007 Will play hockey for food! When do we get jerseys and socks?

What will the season cost? : What will the season cost? With the number of players we have this is what the fees will be: $30 to join USA Hockey liability insurance. http://www.usahockey.com Mites(4-8) With 11-15 players on two teams.

What will it cost? : What will it cost? They will have one practice & one game a week for 17 weeks. Dec. 4th to March 29th 2008 $150 ($130 after 1st player) Or $4.41 a session 1st Game Dec 8? or 15

Road Games : Road Games Both mite teams 4-8 year olds will be able to go to Wentachee, Tri-Cities, Yakima or Spokane for games or tournaments. ANY FEES WOULD BE EXTRA!

Road Games : Road Games We would need to break the teams into their age groups to play games out of town. Only 9-10 (11-12) (or 13-14) year olds from both teams would be combined to go to Wentachee, Tri-Cities, Yakima or Spokane for games or tournaments. ANY FEES WOULD BE EXTRA!

Road Games : Road Games This group will be able to play games in other cities. A game is possible on Wed. 12/12 8:15-9:15 in Wentachee. (if we will be ready?) Wenatchee has already offered us Friday night games($60 + ref’s) They can play in Moses Lake on Saturdays starting on Dec 15, Dec 22, Dec 29, Jan 5 & Jan 12 at 10:30am-12:00 Spokane & Tri-Cities after the 1st! We have the option for more ice time Sunday mornings in Moses Lake for games with other cities at $60 an hour plus referees.

Fees : Fees Make checks payable to MLYHA MLYHA does NOT want to spoil anyone’s Christmas, so payments can be made. Payment will need to be paid in FULL by January 19, 2008 Or player will NOT be able to skate!

Each team needs : Each team needs Team Manager-Organize paperwork, including birth certificates, player & parent rules of conduct. Notify players & parents of schedule. Form call trees or email lists. Organize car pools to road games. Motels for tournaments? Keep track of all insurance information. Schedule people to help in penalty box & run clock for games. Coach-direct practices and organize the FUN! Assist Coach-assist where and when needed. (required to be at least Level I USA Coach NEXT Clinic is Dec 14 Tri Cities) GOALIE!-MLYHA will rent/buy the goalie equipment and the team and Coach will be responsible to return it at the end of the year. Approx cost for each set of equipment is $600. Sponsor- MLYHA is a non-profit organization with a tax ID number(20-8425127) to benefit supporters.

Feb 15-16-17 (Only 2 games on Sunday, Consolation Championship-Champions! Get Gold, Silver, Bronze Medals for Awards Organize skills competition Sunday morning to keep another night in our motels!

The video provides positive examples for hockey parents’ behavior when dealing with their kids, other players, officials and opponents. Should be shown to every parent at the beginning of every season.

“Establishing a Good Relationship Between Coach and Parent” brochure: : “Establishing a Good Relationship Between Coach and Parent” brochure: Outlines suggestions for developing a good working relationship between parents and coaches. Acknowledges that parents play a very important role in the success of a positive youth sports program. ACE COORDINATORS : ACE COORDINATORS The Associate Coaching Education Coordinator establishes and maintains an Association Resource Center for coaches, players and parents. Oversees the recruitment, selection, training, evaluation and disciplining of all coaches. Plans, develops and organizes skating clinics, goaltending clinics, checking clinics and any other clinic which will meet the needs of the association’s players. Develops a teaching and practice curriculum for the association and its coaches. Evaluates and supervises practice sessions and offers constructive criticism to improve the program. Communicate to Association Coaches their certification requirements.
