The first section of the TOEFL iBT tests your ability to read and answer questions about passages (reading). It contains three passages, and each passage is followed by twelve to fourteen questions for a total of thirty-nine questions. The passages are generally from 600 to 700 words long. You have sixty minutes in which to finish this section.
