Description
Both homogeneous and inhomogeneous second order differential equations with constant coefficients are defined and the methods of general solution involving arbitrary constants of such equations are discussed. Situations from physics are analysed where second order differential equations are involved. Characteristic equation is derived and roots of these equations are explained.
