Universal law of Gravitation is the topic of this note. It gives detailed history of the evolution of this law mentioning the findings of Ptolemy, Pythagoras, Copernicus and Kepler's law of planetary motion. Gravitational potential energy has been explained and calculated for spherical shell. Kavendish's experiment for determining G has been described.
