Slide 2 : Mini-Story: Dorothy and Anthony It was the last week of school at Thornton High, and all the YOUTHFUL students were emptying out their lockers. Dorothy, a graduating senior, was cleaning the last bit of paper scraps from her locker when she overheard a few girls say, “Hey, did you hear Anthony Thacker just proposed to Thea Theron in the lunchroom? I never knew they even dated…”
Dorothy dropped what she was cleaning. A wave of shock surged through the entire LENGTH of her body. No! Anthony cannot be marrying Thea! I have to talk to him, she thought to herself. She quickly picked up the last of the paper scraps and shut her locker to find Anthony before the school bell rang.
Slide 3 : Anthony was sitting outside writing some things down when Dorothy found him. “Hi, Anthony,” she said as he looked up with his dazzling, green eyes dancing youthfully with joy.
“Hi Dorothy. How are you doing? Excited for graduation?”
“Yes, I am, but…Anthony, I have something to tell you.”
“Sure, go ahead, I’m just filling out the rest of my paperwork for the U.S. Army.”
“You’re planning on going to Iraq, too?” Dorothy’s shock continued to resonate throughout her body as she heard this second bit of shocking news. Mini-Story: Dorothy and Anthony
Slide 4 : “Yeah, you know? My dream is to be an AUTHOR, but I gotta be a good citizen, right?”
“Ah. I guess so. I suppose you could write about your experiences there. It wouldn’t just be a bunch of hocus-pocus THEORY, but based on your life. But hey, listen, I just wanted to let you know that...” Dorothy blushed.
“What is it, Dorothy?” Anthony suddenly looked impatient as Dorothy stuttered for a second.
“Well, the TRUTH is...I…I REALLY LIKE YOU! Ok, Anthony? So don’t go and marry Thea. Marry me.” Dorothy mentally smacked herself over the head as she realized what she had just spit out. Mini-Story: Dorothy and Anthony
Slide 5 : Mini-Story: The Bad Brothers Dorothy watched as Anthony’s face made a small reaction but she couldn’t fully read the DEPTHS of what he was thinking. A few seconds of silence passed between them until Anthony spoke up with, “That’s nice, Dorothy.”
“That’s, that’s all you’re going to say?”
“Dorothy, I love Thea. I’m sorry.” And with that, Anthony rolled up his paperwork and walked back inside the building. Dorothy sat down and kicked a soda can lying on the ground.
“Sheesh, that’s what I get for holding back all these years. I have to think of a way to break up their relationship.” she said.
Slide 6 : Unexpectedly, she heard someone snicker. Dorothy whirled around to see Nathaniel, one of the outcasts of Thornton staring back at her as he flashed his TEETH with a smirk. “You’re really HUNG UP ON THAT GUY. Aren’t you? I bet you’d be happier with someone like me.” Mini-Story: Dorothy and Anthony
