Purpose : Purpose To develop research and public speaking skills as they are connected to the Pennsylvania Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening Standards and Anchors
Course Outline : Course Outline Students will develop skills that will lead to success in research, writing and public speaking through the use of traditional and nontraditional resources.
Students will use Microsoft Word and Power Point to create a final project consisting of a research paper following the APA format , and an informative speech utilizing Power Point as a visual aide.
Slide 4 : Prior to beginning work on the final project, students will complete several short presentations to practice public speaking skills
Students will be introduced to a number of electronic databases including Facts on File Reference Library and the POWER Libraries.
Grading : Grading All grades are project oriented---spoken or written
Late work will result in the loss of points
Failure to turn in late work will result in a zero on the assignment
Rules : Rules Be on time and in your seat when the bell rings
Bring your block binder and something to write with everyday!
