Description
Polarized and un-polarized light, intensity of polarized light are all explained.Malus's law is explained without bringing in quantum mechanical concept.A simple experiment with two polarisers shows the effect of polarization. Polarizing by reflection off a dielectric is explained and the effect shown by shining light at an angle odd a piece of glass. Two other topics are behaviour of conductors in polarized light and polarization by scattering. This is used in explaining the blue colour of sky and red colour of rising and setting sun. Finally a solution of thiosulfate is used for crating the blue colour and red colour as explained.
