Transformers, Car Coils and RC Circuits

T he first part of the class deals with RC circuit.Oscilloscope images of growth and decay of current are shown.An experiment to show the principles of transformer shows how an enormous current can be built up which can melt a thick iron nail used in the secondary. This process is used in induction furnace to build up high current.At the end the working of a spark plug in an automobile is explained with a demonstration.
