Description
Biot Savart's law is explained. The magnitude and direction of magnetic field at the centre of current is calculated and equivalence with dipole established.Gauss's law and then nature of field near a current carrying conductor is examined using iron filings. Power transmission at high voltage is explained. Highest voltage at which power can be transmitted without causing Corona discharge is calculated. A slide shows the actual diagram of Corona discharge on a power line during a storm. A Leyden jar is charged and then discharged. It shows presence of charge even after that. How? See the explanation.
