Description
Definition of dielectric constant and effects of dielectric on the electric field and potential of a parallel plate capacitor is discussed.Dielectric constants for various substances like glass, plastic, water, ice are cited.The effect of inserting a dielectric between plates of capacitor, increasing the separation between plates is explained. The action of Leyden jar with Physics behind it is discussed.
