Description
The equation of S.H.M is obtained using the laws of conservation of energy. The method is elegant and brings in new concept. The motion of an object in a circular well, the derivation for tangential velocity is explained using expression for conservation of energy . The small angle approximation in the expression has been explained in detail. The motion of the object in the circular well is analyzed using conservation of mechanical energy and shown to be S.H.M. An incredible experiment is conducted using a circular air-track of radius 150m. An object oscillates along the track and the observed time period agrees with the calculated one wonderfully.
