Apparent change in weight in an elevator going up or down with an acceleration is explained. It is easy to understand because the way weight is defined.Free fall and comparison with that in satellites also mentioned. Unique way of explaining why the tension in each part of a string should be same. It leads to different interpretation of weight. Mass, weight and tension has been interpreted in a new way which connects the present example with that of the elevator.
