By the end of your training, I expect that all of you are fluent in foxtrot phonetics used largely by the worldwide travel industry professionals and by becoming an expert in the same in talking as fluently as possible, you will be seen & regarded in the industry as a thorough trained and experienced professional. Foxtrot phonetics is used by travel industry professionals in their day-to-day conversation with other industry professionals and general clientele to convey properly the spellings of words if they are not clearly understood at the other end. For example many a times when my name, Amar Kewlani, is conveyed over the phone, it is many times found to be written incorrectly. To avoid such embarrassing situations, a professional reservations and ticketing agent will convey my name using foxtrot phonetics, (as given in the next page), as Alpha, Mike, Alpha, Roger – that is for AMAR and he/she will use Kilo, Easy, Water, Lima, Alpha, Navy, India – that is KEWLANI. Hope you will take note of this important information made known and presented to you.
