Slide 2 : It was another ORDINARY night at Club Rotz. Dillan has been going there every night since he got his new job. He saunters in and takes up a seat at the bar. He has only been going to Club Rotz to get over the pain of having been dumped by the love of his life.
And besides, Dillan’s job of crunching numbers day in and day out has been numbing his emotions. So, he has been drowning his woes away night after night. He notices that a woman has been watching him, but he ignores her until she starts walking towards him.
“You must be Dillan,” she said. He choked back the last bit of his DRINK and stared at her.
“How did you know my—“
“My name is Diane. I was sent here to give you a coded message. The world you have been living in is not reality. You are from another place.”
“What do you mean?”
She has been looking around the room carefully the whole time they are talking. And before he can say anything she has disappeared. However, her parting words have been ringing in his ears, “You will UNDERSTAND soon.”
When Dillan gets home, he takes off his jacket and notices that Diane had stuck a note in his pocket:
“You will soon understand the strange things you have been experiencing. Something DANGEROUS will happen tomorrow. When you sense the danger, say the words ‘Tick tock clock’ and you will see me again.”
Slide 3 : He doesn’t believe in superstitions, so he tosses the note aside and promptly falls asleep because he is DETERMINED to forget the whole situation.
The next day, Dillan wakes up and catches the subway to work. Things have been bustling with activity since many of Dillan’s co-workers were getting LAID OFF unexpectedly.
What surprises him even more though is when his manager hands him a pink slip and says, “Well, nice knowing you Dillan. Some government officials would like to speak with you now.”
Dillan walks towards the conference room where he is confronted by two big dudes wearing fedoras and sunglasses. They have been smiling dryly at Dillan as he walks TOWARDS them. They have the letters “OL” stitched on their long, dark overcoats.
Dillan’s MIND has been spinning ever since he was handed the pink slip. His vision has been getting darker and darker. He can still hear the officials’ voices, but he cannot see anything no matter how hard he tries. The agents have been asking him lots of questions, but Dillan cannot open his mouth.
