1) Read through the text below and answer this question: How many of the pieces of advice were in the exercise you have just done? 2) Now read the text again and put in the missing word. In each case only one ward is missing. This may depend on meaning or structure: If you want to stop smoking it is important to follow a few dos and don'ts. This is because it is useful to have clear guidelines or rules to follow. The most important thing is that you 1) be motivated, you must really want to stop and you have 2) change your habits because smoking is often connected to certain moments in your day. You 3) reward yourself if you keep to your decision so that the process is not too difficult and you 4) experiment with different ways of doing it. One thing you 5) do is to try hypnotism, for instance. Another thing that is important is that you need 6) "live your normal life". Some people think that they 7) to stay at home and not see anyone if they want to be successful but you 8) have to isolate yourself completely. One final piece of advice: you 9) buy packets of cigarettes. A friend of mine tried to stop smoking and he bought an emergency packet of cigarettes which he left at a bar near his house. You 10) do this because the result was that he spent all day at the bar smoking his "emergency cigarettes"!
