Slide 2 : The Tate brothers realized that their trainer was CORRECT. His secret had been helping them join teams. However, they had not been preparing themselves physically for the football games. They were way too overweight and undisciplined. They had not been doing anything to get in shape.
Ted and Terry apologized to Mr. Toadtoes because they had not been listening to him. They admitted that he had been telling them the TRUTH. They told him that they would SHAPE UP. He told them that he had been willing to help them get in shape since the START.
So, Mr. Toadtoes had been going to Ted and Terry’s house at 4:02 a.m. to wake them up every morning. He had been making them run a marathon while they pulled him on a bike. Every day they had been pulling him farther and longer. Their training had been very intense.
But they had been working really hard. They had even been pulling him on a motorcycle. Later, they had been running around while they pulled him in a car. Eventually, they had even been pulling him around in a truck. And finally they had been pulling him in a TRAIN.
After running, Mr. Toadtoes had been making them do lots of exercises in the gym TILL lunch time. In the afternoon, they had been playing football in the backyard to develop their game skills and techniques. Then at NIGHT they had been watching replays on TV and studying game plays.
Finally, Mr. Toadtoes told them that they were ready to play football again. They had been feeling nervous about going back to the team. They told Mr. Toadtoes that they didn’t care about football anymore. But he had been motivating them to ACCEPT the challenge anyway.
