The moderator will see that you want to ask a question
and will respond;
Remember to be patient. Your turn will come.
Activity Two : Activity Two Reviewing language
This is similar to the first activity, but it can be used to work on a language review.
Type the second part of the binomial phrase into the chat box.
Example
The moderator says “Black and…”
You type “white” or maybe “blue”
Chat Protocol : Chat Protocol When a few people are together in an online space a few rules can help to organise discussion:
1) Listen to the moderator;
2) Use the “Raise Hands” button or type “?” into the chat box to ask a question;
3) Type “short chunks with ellipses to avoid “silence”…
Then paste the chunk like this …
So that the others know that …
You haven’t finished but still have something to say.
4) Don’t type things that are too long and remember that everyone types at different speeds;
5) If you want to make an extra comment put it in brackets (like this).
These simple rules can help us communicate.
And now for audio“Passing the Parcel” : And now for audio“Passing the Parcel” To avoid overloading the system and confusion the best way to “speak “ is in open pairs:
This means the moderator gives YOU audio control and you can ask a question to another student.
This student can then reply and pass the microphone (the parcel) to someone else.
Use these questions to start (but you can ask your own if you want to. Simply raise your hand or type “?” if you have a question you want to ask)
1. What’s your favourite time of day?
2. Are you a busy person?
3. What would you change about the town/country where you live?
4. What are you planning to do with the rest of the day?
