At Builders' School, we strive to do inquiry learning project through Social Studies and Science. Our chosen themes are grounded on Filipino History, Culture and Global Citizenship. These units have been crafted carefully to strike a balance between providing children with guided inquiry and open ended inquiry opportunities. Through WiZiQ we hope to run these projects online with homeschoolers in the Philippines. We can provide assistance to parents who may want to do these with their children or have children themselves do their choice of projects while a Teacher from Builders' School faciliate their learning through the inquiry cycle as illustrated here.

To be progressive means... : we do this through research of teaching practices, careful reflection of our experiences grounded on our knowledge of students' needs and interests, understanding of the subject matter, and needs of society. To be progressive means...

Key concepts: identity and diversity An inquiry into: -my family’s beliefs and expressions of these -Filipino indigenous beliefs - different world religions This unit builds on previous units: Kwentong Buhay,  Celebrations Around the World

Slide 12 : Term 1B LIFE, GROWTH and CHANGE Big Idea: As we grow, our bodies go through a process of change. Key concepts: change, process, cycle A study about: -the different body systems which make life possible -growth as a natural function and process of living things -the human life cycle  This unit builds on previous projects/lessons on: Animal Life Cycles,  Kamalayang Pangkatawan, What Makes me Sick?

Slide 13 : INTRAMUROS Pangkalahatang Ideya: Ang kolonisasyon ay nagdudulot ng pagbabago sa pamumuhay ng tao. Konsepto: sanhi at dulot, pagbabago Isang pag-aaral tungkol sa: -ang kwento ng pagkakatuklas at pananakop sa Pilipinas -ang Intramuros, at iba pang mga baluarte dala ng Espanya -iba pang pagbabagong dulot ng kolonisasyon ng Espanya

Key concepts: government, organization A case study about: -what it means to be a city -how local government works -Marikina City in action This study builds on our prior units on Barangay Noon at Ngayon Geography Threads about cities, provinces and regions
