Slide 7 : Message Descriptor: Version - It is for to identify the MQ Series Version and Platform Message ID & Correlation ID: Message ID / Correlation ID are used to identify a specific request or reply message. It helps to instruct the queue manager to look for a specific message in the queue. Persistent and Non-Persistent Message: There are two types of Messages Persistent and Non-Persistent Persistent Messages survive during system failure but Non-Persistent Messages not. Priority : Messages can be prioritized by using this Message Descriptor

Slide 8 : Life time of Message : This indicates the expiry date of message. Generally the message not Automatically expire after getting the application the application delete The message Date and Time: When the messages was Put into the queue Return Address: For Request/Reply type of messages this is so much useful Sending Application type: This carries information about Sending application
