What is Copyright? : What is Copyright? Copyright is a form of protection given to authors or creators of “original” pieces of work.
Anytime that you create something that falls under one of the following categories, you automatically own it!!! This can be anything literary, musical, dramatic, choreographic works, picture, graph, or sculpture works, motion pictures, sound recordings, or architectural works.
Some Exclusions: : Some Exclusions: Idea, procedures, methods
Titles, names, phrases, or slogans
Speeches, songs, or performances which are not tangible (never been written down)
Government works
Common information such as calendars, rulers, tables, etc.

Make copies
Distribute copies
Publicly perform your work
Display your work
Make adaptations or modifications
