Two groups:
Degrees of Certainty: When a situation is probable, possible, or impossible: ( shall, should, could, ought to, may, conditional certainty) ( negatives: shan’t couldn’t, oughtn’t, mightn’t)

2. Has to do with obligation, freedom to act, when someone is obliged to do something, forbidden, suggested)
Strong obligation:

Prohibition
Patrons mustn’t smoke in the dining room.
Recommendation:
You should try to arrive early.

Off Shore Drilling
As the demand for oil is increasing around the world, I have heard that oil companies are drilling deeper and deeper beneath the ocean in order to extract crude oil. After the devastating blowout that occurred in the Gulf of Mexico, we have seen the risk involved with off shore oil drilling.
