Lesson 2: The Pillars of Islam

For the next few classes we shall discuss the pillars of Islam, at length given different points of benefit from several sources and scholars on the subject inshaAllah. To begin with we shall discuss the greatest of the five pillars called the Shahadah. The Shahadah also known as the testimony of faith has been explained by Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (Rahimahullah) to mean “that there is no deity worthy of worship besides Allaah (laa ilaaha illallah), he stated that this is what the messengers were sent with.
