Description
Integrating Math Art and Music in a computer language by Dani Novak

About the Presenter:
Have been teaching for 30 years. Passionate about teaching math in a meaningful way that makes sense to students. co-developed a computer language that uses math art and sound together. For further details about me, please view this bio from my college.

About the Presentation:
This session will introduce a new piece of software called MuMart (Music Math Art), programmed and developed by David Rosenthal with help of Dani Novak and support form Ithaca College. It can be used to create Dynamic Mathematical Art and to teach kids Mathematics in a meaningful way. Dani will introduce a computer language that he has been co developing that connects Math, Art and Music together. Participants will be able to load the language and play with it. The talk is for folks interested in Math education and also for those who want to transform their own negative emotions about Math if they have any.

Integrating Math Art and Music in a computer language : Integrating Math Art and Music in a computer language How to reach students who love patterns and play and teach Math in a fun way and still have rigor

The language started as off shoot of Logo (Seymour Papert Mind Storms) : The language started as off shoot of Logo (Seymour Papert Mind Storms) It gradually evolved into a mathematical computer environment that could be used among other things to create Static and Dynamic Computer Art. In this presentation we will introduce different examples of the language.
