Interestingly earlier, we used to assume that all know about these services
What are these : www.abhimanu.com What are these Civil services are for the purpose of this lecture are “government services”
But government services are at different levels starting from a clerk to as high as secretary to Prime Minister.
But we are talking about specific ones
IAS, IPS , IFS, IRS etc constituting of only top level services

DCs ( IAS) , SSPs, DGPs (IPS), Income tax commissioners (IRS) etc are recruited from these exams

“why you should decide clearly that why you want to go for these services ?”
Motivation : www.abhimanu.com Motivation “Adequate Motivation” is must for preparation.
Best motivation is which comes from inside
If you are yourself convinced and attracted by these services than only you can prepare properly.

Recognition , responsibility and opportunities

It is said these services provide best possible start in life.
You will be at the top right from your youth.
Imagine being deputy commissioner after seven year ( 2+2+ 3)

There are few limitations too,
Limited salary – after 6th pay commission , starting around 25000 - 30,000/- and other perks ( vehicle, accommodation , phone etc.)
Salaries in private sector may be much more.
Slide 13 : www.abhimanu.com Lengthy process – Exam process takes one year and at least one year of preparation is must. Minimum two years are required
Limited vacancies – every year on an average 600 – 700 vacancies are coming , which makes it risky affair. You may not be able to make to it even after two years.
Requires careful planning and systematic preparation.

Paper II: Apptitude test, carries a score of 200, two hours duration

Subjective or essay type format.
Held in the month of Oct/Nov

Total score - 2000
