Academic Program The academic year is divided in four semester , each of nearly 12 weeks of online live classes (synchronous) and also asynchronous model of learning of learning. Program Commencement Students are expected, to be there from the start of the program commencement. Incase of late reporting the Institute reserves right to let the student continue the program and can charge late fee. MPBT Course Curriculum Design Tri -Semester One C001 : Human Resource Management This course prepares students to excel at managing, training, and developing personnel within an organization. Students learn the history and philosophy of human resource management with special emphasis in Indian Philosophy based on Bhagvad Gita, the concepts and process of human resource planning, emerging trends in human resource management, job analysis, recruitment, selection, training, development, compensation, and performance appraisal. The issues of human resource management beyond the organization, including industrial relations, trade union, and work grievance procedures, are examined. C002 : Organizational Behavior & Management Process This course prepares students to understand how individuals and groups can be managed to create an effective organization based on Indian Philosophy. Students are taught the historical evolution of management theory and how application of Indian philosophy could enhance it, systems for human resource management, the behavior and motivation of individuals, group dynamics, and corporate culture considerations. The behavioral resistance to change and work stress issues are examined Tri -Semester Two C003 : Strategic Management This course prepares students to create strategic advantage for an organization using a discipline approach based on Indian Philosophy as elaborated in Bhagvad Gita, toward strategic planning and implementation. Students learn about the strategic planning process, the concepts of goals, objectives, mission, and vision, different approaches toward strategy, strategy formulation, and strategic evaluation. Specific models for strategy formulation include bench marking, the use of 7S framework, SWOT analysis, and value chain analysis. This course requires a short paper (2-4 pages). C004 : Management Science This course prepares students to apply the principles of operations management inherited from Arthasastra to business activity. Students learn the methods of operations management, including linear programming, queuing theory, transportation models, game theory, decision theory, and simulation. The advantages, uncertainty, and risk of each analytical approach are presented. Tri -Semester Three C005 : Financial & Management Accounting based on Arthasastra This course prepares students to apply accounting principles based on Arthasastra to management decision-making. Students learn the framework and basic principles of Arthasastra based financial accounting, management accounting, cost accounting, and financial analysis. The three main approaches to costing are analyzed in depth. C006 Managerial Economics This course prepares students to apply the principles of economics as discussed in Kautilya’s Arthasastra to business problems. Students learn the vocabulary of the economist and the scope of economic analysis: demand, supply, market structure, national income analysis, and consumption versus saving. Particular attention is paid to international trade, inflation, trade barriers and protectionism are explained. Tri -Semester Four C007 Sustainable Development , Environmental Management and Business Transformation This course prepares students to make management decisions that incorporate environmental issues and impact. Students learn about the principles of sustainable development and Business Transformation based on Important works of Indian Philosophy including Arthasastra , YogaSutra of patanjali and Bhagvad Gita, the political and legal aspects of environmental management, how to conduct an environmental impact assessment, environmental standards, the ethics of the environment, WTO environmental issues, and the challenges of waste management. Emphasis is placed on the six critical skills needed to be a successful Business Transformational professional in the global "green" economy. This course requires a short paper (2-4 pages). C008 Information & Change Management leading to Business Transformation This course prepares students to identify and deliver Information and Change Management leading to Business Transformation in their products and services. Students learn about , Information Technology Frameworks and Business Transformation concept and Philosophy, the concept of Business Transformation Outsourcing , Transformation Leadership , Business Transformation Roadmap, BT quality circles, the roles of BTM leaders, the perception of quality in Business Transformation projects and customer satisfaction, and performance measures. Some of the Business Transformation tools and techniques taught include pareto and process flow diagrams, check sheets and histograms, quality function deployment, the design of experiments and control charts, Business Transformation management systems and bench marking. This course requires a short paper (2-4 pages). Dissertation This capstone course integrates concepts from all prior courses in the program. The dissertation focuses on a Business Transformation area of management in an organization the student selects. The final paper includes an introduction, executive summary, industry information, company information, functional area information (including theory and practical application), and general summary and findings. You can read it on-line or print it out for use How does online learning work? In our online learning courses, you take one or two classes at a time. We offer video lectures that involve studying from a textbook and answering questions. Throughout the lessons, you email the teachers with questions. There are interactive on-line sessions once a week per class where you attend in real time and there is a live classroom style discussion. The large "well-known" distance schools do not offer video lectures or interactive sessions. Can I specialize? Yes, you can specialize . Can I get a refund? Once you are accepted and you start a class, you may only get a refund in the first week of class. After that refunds are not provided.
