Teaching Experience
Retired Teacher
Daviess County Public Schools, United States
Aug 1966 - May 1999
4th grade (all subjects), 6th-8th grade (language arts)
I teach students "how to learn" as well as "what to learn." I believe that developing good study and test-taking skills will enable students to achieve for a lifetime. I have a teaching reputation of being very creative and an excellent motivator.
I love the "a-ha" moment when students understand the content we have been discussing.
I have a wealth of experience teaching students how to write all types of essays, narratives, letters, stories, and other forms of writing. I can tutor any level from first grade through college in compositiion.
For 10 years, I served as head academic coach and proudly led three different teams to Ist Place State Championships. Several of my students also scored individually in the top 4 on language arts and advanced composition.
