During DOS to Windows transition days, I was supervising a KB based graphics designer project for an MCM student who happened to be a friend of another C faculty in a renowned institute. Once my student invited his friend to see how the project was coming up and when he arrived the UI was present on the monitor, his comment was "It's very nice and advance windows programming". Then we b roke to him that he was looking at a DOS based application done in C language, he refused to believe that something like that can be done in DOS environment using plain C! Then we showed him the code in action and he was simply speechless. This incident not only boosted confidence in my student, but also brought immense satisfaction for me that I was doing my job the way it should be!
