Factors affecting induction and development of in vitro rooting in apple rootstocks
• Sharma T, Modgil M and Thakur M. 2007

Present studies on rooting and acclimatization were aimed to develop a method for efficient rooting and adequate procedure for acclimatization of apple rootstocks M7 and MM106.Various concentrations of IBA (1-3.5 mgl-1 ) with and without activated charcoal were tested. Maximum rooting percentage was achieved with 2.0 and 2.5mgl-1 IBA. Auxin dip for sometime also found efficient for rooting. Dark treatment reduction of MS salts in root elongation medium was also tested and we found satisfactory results. For acclimatization, various potting media were attempted but best results were found in cocopeat .Hardened plants in glass house were successfully transplanted to field. Good survival percentage was found after five months.
