As Coordinator of Online Learning at the Research and Curriculum Unit for Workforce Development and Vocational Education in Starkville, Mississippi, Marilyn has extensive experience in training. She develops, coordinates and presents training programs for educators in vocational education programs. Her experience began in her days as an elementary education classroom teacher where she discovered the joy of sharing with colleagues the empowerment of technology applications. For twelve years now she has been involved in training educators for professional development in technology.
Marilyn completed her B.S. and M.S. degrees in elementary education at the University of Southern Mississippi and taught in the public schools of Mississippi before completing her Ph.D. in Instructional Technology at Mississippi State University. Her professional expertise in training and development served her well as a lecturer for college of education students at Mississippi State University and helped transition her into her current role. Marilyn is a Training Clinic Certified Presenter and is an active member of Phi Delta Kappa International.
Marilyn’s experience as a professional development specialist includes the following workshops: Certification Of Online Learning (C.O.O.L.) Blackboard.com, Internet in the Classroom, Let’s Meet Online, PowerPoint, Web Design, Standards for Elementary Keyboarding, B.R.I.D.G.E., Safety in Construction Education, MS Office XP, and How to Search the Internet. She has presented for numerous professional groups, organizations, vocational and academic classroom educators.
