I was the first freshman to be a tutor, and also precept (similar to being a TA) MTH095, an introductory algebra class. Also, I was in high demand to tutor MTH111, Quantitative Reasoning, a class I'd never actually taken, only read the book, as it was the 'catch-all' non-traditional math class for the liberal arts students to fulfill the college's core math requirement.
