This is my 28th year of teaching. Although currently I teach 8th grade U.S. history, I have taught English and writing to students as young as 11 and as old as I am (in our local community college). I believe in the adage, "Be the guide on the side, not the sage on the stage." My philosophy is that learning should be engaging and active.

I wrote this novel while on a sabbatical to learn novel writing in 1999-2000. It is a murder mystery with a teacher as the protagonist.
