About Soubeika Bahri

My name is Soubeika Bahri. Currently, I am a graduate student in Applied Linguistics at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA. I am pursuing a double-major track combining TESOL and Sociolinguistics. I will earn my degree in May 2011. I would like to apply for an instructor or tutor position of Arabic, French, or English

I have successfully completed all the core classes of the TESOL track and learned materials design, lesson plans preparation, and assessment principles. I have an ability to maneuver and incorporate technology easily in the classroom. During the few years of my ESL teaching experience in Tunisia and work at the front desk at the ESL Instruction and Consulting School in Atlanta, GA, I developed good skills of teaching and mentoring ESL students.
Also, I have taught and tutored Arabic and French in my country and in the United States. I led private tutorial of both languages in Georgia State University and Old Dominion University. I had a good experience in tutoring Arabic to groups of international students in Tunisia as well.

I have done considerable amount of presentations during my graduate studies and as a member of the Atlanta Journal Constitution Toastmaster Group. I also presented a paper at the 8th Annual Conference at ODU in 2010. Additionally, I attended last VATESOL conference in October 5th, 2010 where I gathered many innovative and creative teaching ideas that I plan to implement in the classes I will teach.
