Intercultrual Communication Competence Outcomes in Study Abroad
Sheila Cohen
A Master of Arts Capstone in International Education; study abroad student's blogs were studied during a semester abroad, to examine the relationship between intercultural competency and degree of immersion. Study found a number of variables connected to intercultural competency. While immersion was a key factor, skills such as language, knowledge of culture, and an open mind were other factors which may have influenced the level of competence outcomes.
