This is the third session of the IIT/ AIEEE/ CET/ Engineering Entrance Examination India. The full preparatory course is brought to you by APT Academic Solutions, Hyderabad in association with WiZiQ.com. The course is free of cost.

In any problem where you are considering the forces acting on an object - which is a large percentage of the problems in physics - one of the first steps is to create a free-body diagram to depict the situation. A free-body diagram is a picture of the physical situation you are analyzing, which depicts all of the relevant forces acting on the objects of interest. In applying Newton's second law to a problem, the net force, which is the sum of all the forces, often has to be determined so the acceleration can be found. A good way to work out the net force is to draw what's called a free-body diagram, in which all the forces acting on an object are shown.

This session will make the audience learn what is necessary to create a free-body diagram and how to apply it towards physics problem-solving. The previous sessions in Physics include:
