Certain bimolecular reactions which follow the first order kinetics are called ____.
First order reactions
Unimolecular reactions
Bimolecular reactions
Pseudounimolecular reactions
After how many seconds will the concentration of the reactants in a first order reaction be halved, if the decay constant is?
100 s
200 s
400 s
600 s
For the reaction system volume is suddenly produced to half its value by increasing the pressure on it. If the reaction is of first order with respect to and second order with respect to, the rate of reaction will ____.
Diminish to one fourth of its initial value
Diminish to one eighth of its initial value
Increase to eight times of its initial value
Increase to four times of its initial value
The rate of a chemical reaction ____.
Increases as the reaction proceeds
Decreases as the reaction proceeds
May increase or decrease during the reaction
Remains constant as the reaction proceeds
The rate of a reaction that not involves gases is not dependent on ____.
Pressure
Temperature
Concentration
Catalyst
When a reaction is progressing ____.
The rate of the reaction goes on increasing
The concentration of the products goes on decreasing
The concentration of the reactants goes on decreasing
The reaction rate always remains constant
If the concentration of the reactants is increased, the rate of reaction ____.
Remains unaffected
Increases
Decreases
May increase or decrease
Time required for completion of ionic reactions in comparison to molecular reactions is ____.
Maximum
Minimum
Equal
None
A catalyst increases the rate of reaction because it ____.
Increases the activation energy
Decreases the energy barrier for reaction
Decreases the collision diameter
Increases the temperature coefficient
The term in a rate equation refers to the ____.
Concentration of the reactant
Decrease in concentration of the reactant with time
Increase in concentration of the reactant with time
Velocity constant of the reaction
Description:

This test consist of 10 questions.Students should ideally take 10 minutes to complete the test. This test is useful for those students who are preparing for IIT JEE, AIEEE or any other engineering entrance test. This test consist of questions from Chemical Kinetics and which, in general, is focused in AIEEE and IIT JEE. In this chapter, Rate of reaction is key topic and mostly application based questions are asked.
