Hi, correct me if I am wrong but the cue word there in number 11 is came so that means they have gone to the milliner's shop, so I think it should be came from, you use to with went, please share me your insight on this.

yes joana, (In Q.No.11) if we say that Rosmand and her mother
came to : it means that they reached there.
if we say
came from it means that they returned from there.
Even if both answers are correct but this questionnaire was made by my view so I corrected the option 1. ok. Actually this was my first attempt..next time the test series will be accurate..interesting...and more accurate. Keep in touch with me. Ok Bye.

Mehak..Q.11 is not wrong in its sense here :
if we say that Rosmand and her mother
came to : it means that they reached there.
if we say
came from it means that they returned from there.
Even if both answers are correct but this questionnaire was made by my view so I corrected the option 1. ok. Actually this was my first attempt..next time the test series will be accurate..interesting...and more accurate.

Question 9 The word Nigger is extremely offensive to Black people and is regarded as racist.in the UK if this word was used in the classroom by a student it could lead to suspension

Obviously It is an offense, But this line was derived from a famous writer E.R. Braithwaite, who was also a Negro and he used such words in his essay "The Betrayal of Faith". Here he shows his feeling apparently when he spent some days in UK.
We see that there is a caste diversion in every country. In India there is extensiveness of casteism. But we never teach such words directly that hurts others, but there are some synonyms that reflects the meaning clearly.

1. There are some sentences which aren't clear. For example"
You boys must settle it ... [if there are two boys, it would be between; if there are more, it would be among.
2. There is a difference in the use of prepositions in British vs. American English. Which one are you using?
3. There are some misspellings: 'with' 'light'
Good luck with your tests.

If there are words like - two, both, etc. we use between.
If not mentioned so we should assume that they are more then two-so we should use 'among'

I was quite shocked by the use of the word 'nigger' in this quiz. It is deeply offensive, outdated and unnecessary. Yes, it is a quote but it is our duty as educators to speak of discrimination and prejudice in context. This has no place in a grammar test and to use this language suggests that it is acceptable for those unfamiliar with English. Also this stand alone statement suggests a reflection of modern Britain. If you were to use this word in Britain now you would be considered an absolute extremist. The word 'negro' to describe people of African descent is also offensive and although I'm sure you meant no harm you must be careful when teaching English to ensure your language is acceptable to all - especially in an international forum such as this.
