About the Class: |
This session will introduce you to the programmer technique of test-driven development (TDD). You'll learn:- What TDD is,
- What it is not,
- Who does it, and when.
You'll learn the distinction between test-driven and test-after development.
Most importantly you'll learn the benefits of TDD, and why it can help you survive when tackling an agile project.
While TDD is a programmer's technique, this session is geared toward anyone wanting to understand more about using TDD to help execute an agile project successfully. Managers, project managers, testers, analysts, architects, Scrum masters, and all others are welcome. Please note that the term TDD can also refer to "story test-driven development," a similar process that involves the whole agile team. This discussion will be limited to
only the programmer technique.

About the presenter:
Jeff Langr

Jeff Langr is the owner of Langr Software Solutions, an agile training and consulting company located in Texas, US. Jeff has mentored, coached, and worked in agile teams for almost ten years out of a development career spanning over a quarter of century. He consulted for Uncle Bob Martin's esteemed agile company Object Mentor for two years before founding his own company. Jeff is the author of two books, including Agile Java (Prentice Hall PTR, 2005) and Essential Java Style (Prentice Hall PTR, 2000). He contributed two chapters to Uncle Bob's new book Clean Code and has written over 80 published articles on software development, covering topics that include Java, C++, agile, TDD, and object-oriented design.
