About the Class

Believe it or not, learning about connected speech and the phonetic alphabet can be really fun! I will show you how. :)

This is a FREE language class for students and teachers of English or ESL (English as a Second Language).

We will look at how to use the phonetic alphabet in an English class to illustrate the differences between spelling and sounds in the English language, and to help students improve their pronunciation skills.

Please plug in your mic or webcam if you would like to speak during the class!

Matt Purland is a lecturer in English Language. He has a BA Honours degree in Drama from the University of Wales and a Postgraduate Certificate in Further Education from the University of Derby.
