Profile Summary

I'm Gloria Brooks aka Natureglo, founder and director of Natureglo's Art & Science eCenter. I hold a BA in K-12 education with certification from the Wilderness Awareness school and have been teaching since 1997. I'm an avid student of nature. My passion in life is to guide generations to care more for the earth. I teach with the hopes that if students know and love something, they will help protect it. I love studying the natural world and all it's wondrous patterns. I gear my content with the middle or highs schooler in mind, but the content is appropriate for most ages. Classes are one price for the whole family.

I am an alternative educator and view myself also as a facilitator, mentor and a resource teacher. I do not utilize tests, grades or compulsory homework. I offer a plethora of learning resources from my ten class websites or "virtual libraries" including projects, activities, experiences, video tutorials and more to be used beyond the classroom experience. My hope is to spark within the student a desire to become a self-taught learner. I hope to attract students that are passionate about the subject. I encourage students to keep a journal and portfolio for themselves and for record keeping and for use to report learning to the state if you are a high school and or homeschool student. As for college credit, I do not offer credits as I do not operate within institutionalized education.

I hope you and your family will join me on this journey.

Sincerely,

Gloria Brooks aka Natureglo
