About the Class

Language plants are like grammatical mind maps. Mind maps use key words. Imagine a tree, its branches, composed of colourful words spreading out, giving learners lots of different structures, phrases, chunks. David will show how to use language garden tools so participants can make their own materials which they can import to Moodle, and demonstrate activities you can do with them. It is a truly unique resource.

Join David's inspirational Facebook group for Language Gardening for more.

David has taught English for 20 years, in all learning situations. In 2000, while working for the British Council in Portugal, he came up with the idea of language plants, which are like grammatical mind maps. Since then, he has continued to teach and train teachers, mostly in the UK, in techniques to improve the teaching of English.

Elegant in its simplicity and useabililty. I'll be using these ideas, remembering (and citing) David, and teaching other teachers how to ... make language learning both more engaging and easier to understand.
