About the Class

There is great difference of opinion in obstetrics about the diagnosing and treatment of gestational diabetes. A midwife's client who is diagnosed with gestational diabetes loses some of her ability to make choices in birth. Not only that but she will have a much more stressful pregnancy once this diagnosis is made. In this class, you will learn some practical and workable ways to prevent the diagnosis in the first place and, then, keep your clients from the poor eating habits that lead to blood sugar swings.

I cannot believe that I didn't realise that fetus's can get dangerously high blood glucose levels just like an adult diabetic having hyperglycaimia and ketoacidocis or a diabetic coma. And that it is a cause of stillbirth at term....so glad I know this....makes me take diet a whole lot more seriously. Thankyou
