About the Class
Teachers know that helping students to learn is part and parcel of their trade. How do we help and empower students in online learning environments? Scaffolding is a concept of sociocultural theory that defines learning as a process and activity that engages students and teachers. The question discussed in this presentation is “How can teachers develop scaffolding techniques in synchronous and asynchronous online courses?”
She has experience in language teaching and language teacher training. These experiences include face-to-face as well as online workshops, with synchronous (Elluminate) as well as asynchronous (Moodle) tools.
Diethild has a commitment to lifelong learning regarding all a variety of subjects (languages, meditation, traveling, and climate change, among other topics). She has surfed on the internet since 1994. To her, the internet is a place where she reads, listens, connects with people, learns, and shares. It has also become her way of life. When she is not online, she loves to swim, practice Pilates, hike, bike, cook, and meet people.
