Introduction to Clinical Coding is an introductory class that aims to introduce nurses, physicians, and other clinically-trained experienced professionals to the concept of their providing coding services.
This class has been designed for professionals with more than 3 years of experience in Nursing and other clinical positions.
The topics covered in this class include current and upcoming changes, importance of clinical input in the implementation process, and how you can become a trained and certified coder without having to "go back to school."
Information is given about the RN-Coder Institute, RN-Auditor Institute, and the new for 2012 RN-Coder ICD10 Institute. Class is led by Joyce Moxley Thomas, who holds a Masters degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of LaVerne and has been training RNs and physicians in compliant coding since 2001.
Prior to founding the RN-Coder Institute, Joyce was a medical practice administrator for several years. She is a Certified Professional Midwife, licensed by the California Medical Board and holds the CPC and CCC-Advanced coding credentials.
