About the Class

We will present the MuMart "Music Math and Art" wiki and the computer language APGS and give examples of how to learn and teach math in an intuitive way using computers.
Dr. Novak was born in Israel in 1949. He competed his masters in the Technion and later the PhD in Connecticut. Both in Pure Mathematics. Danie started teaching in 1981 at Ithaca College in upstate New York. Around that time he read Seymore Papert's book "Mind Storm". This affected him deeply and helped him reconnect with the intuitive aspects of learning and enjoying Mathematics. From this came math summer camps for children, development of a Mathematical Art college course and continuous growth in the area of "feeling mathenmatics" and developed with a colleague David Rosenthal a computer environment that can be used to teach mathematical Art.
