Not every birth will go smoothly and not every cesarean can be avoided. When a midwife client has a cesarean, it's important for the midwife to know exactly what happened, what the trauma has been, what the body must heal from and what the long term consequences will be. What an enormous amount of information to assimilate, I'll definitely be going back over the recording. Very refreshing to hear the technical side to cesareans without all the controversy, because whether we like it or not, they're needed sometimes. And it's much better to be prepared when that time comes than to be caught unaware. Thanks Gloria for another awesome class!
