About the Class

The following list of games will be used for our daily perfecting of English. Some seem rather simple but all are fun and will challenge you.

The game's content are from the monthly narratives (songs) from Karaoke ESL. You will be competing for your country as all game winners will receive one "win" for their home nation. In April of next year we will be conducting an ESL Olympics based on these games.

TWISTER

I dare you to try this with your friends and students!

Limericks

Poetry is a powerful tool for enhancing English learning.

This is another fun activity for challenging your group.

X-word

Crossword Puzzles while simplistic have proven to be a great reinforcement of target narratives and words. We ended up making hundreds based on our curriculum (50 song narratives).

The ESL Dating Game

This one is a great speaking game that mimicks a TESL oral exam. But, this one is fun.

COMING SOON: Survey Says?

This game is a cross between an old TV gameshow called "Family Feud" and a new board game called "Would You Rather". It gives contestants 3 alternatives to argue for. Then the audience votes on their choice to decide the winner. Also the countrymen of contestant can help by giving ideas in the chat box.

Profile Summary

We do not need "them", we only need each other.

This group of pilgrims called "The Edupunk" are seeking a new paradigm for online learning. We hold to several core principals:
1. All can teach, all should teach
2. Mistakes and willing to risk mistakes are much prefered over the false goal of perfection.
3. Fun activities and gaming are not only more engaging, they are the key to a sustainable model for learning... anything.
4. Live interaction and group activities create the basis for deep and experiential learning.
5. Accountability and competition is the basis of our community. We build and only associate with leaders who can recognize that they and every member have knowledge to share.
