About the Class
Maia Berens has spent a good deal of the last 30 years involved in the human potential movement.
She started going to 12-Step meetings in 1980 and continued learning and growing – spending years working with John Gray of Men Are from Mars fame. Ultimately Maia founded and directed his Mars Venus Institute. She has been coaching, mentoring and creating personal development programs for the past 15 years. Her role, as founder of this company, is to mentor and train new coach/instructors of YOU University, direct the YOU University team and continue to create great personal development programs meant to increase your emotional intelligence.
Maia has been committed to an ideal of discovering who she is at her core ever since she discovered transformation was possible. Maia’s dedication to her own growth and creativity, has led her out of a troubled past and led into the life she now dreams is possible for everyone.
She says, “I love to coach and help people uncover their talents and gifts. It’s like getting to live my much loved pastime every day. My favorite hobby for years now is to watch people grow.”
Maia’s own life experience has taught her that once people pick up their courage and deal with their emotional baggage, the mistaken beliefs they have made about themselves become conscious. Then they are able to find their Real Self – the one they were born to be.
She experiences breathtaking fulfillment owing to participation in such profound transformation.
She also loves to teach. She says, “Teaching others how to coach is like doing my favorite leisure pursuit – with a cherry on top. So I am now dedicating my time to training and supporting potential coaches. How I do this is to coach them through YOU University – giving them the transformative experience – and at the same time teach them how to coach so they learn how to do the same with their clients.”

Maia’s Coaching Philosophy
About your issues, Maia suggests: Let’s find a higher perspective or let’s get to the other side of it. Let’s not let it run your life any longer. My theory is that our blocks are there to catch our attention when something needs expanded awareness and transformation. Our job as coaches is to help clients first see that they can change whatever isn’t working in their lives. Then help them figure out how to make those adjustments by teaching them a variety of tools and perspective changes.
