Assalaamu alaykum. Uztaadh, is it ok with you to post some of the pages of the book to the whiteboard during discussions (ie the current page/lesson under discussion)?
i dont have a hard copy of the book so it's kinda difficult to switch from one window to another specially when students are answering questions. this has been suggested by one of the students in class 9 i guess but the file size limit for uploaded files in wiziq makes it difficult.
in sha allah, i could separate the lessons individually so that each will have approximately 200-300kB only and not the entire 22MB. if you would like, in sha allah, i could post the link here to some of those lessons i'v segregated in unit 8. jazaak allahu khair.
iv attended only one live session (class 25) but, ma sha allah, that made me study the previous recordings. im at class 9 now, 17 more to go, alhamdu lillah.

Important Message to Kenshin:

I want to inform you that I found a way to split the books into smaller files.

I now have all the books split to smaller versions.

I will try to upload the pages of each class to the whiteboard from next class in/shaa'allah. Let us see how this goes.

You are advised not to split any files until a further notice.

Thank you.

ok uztaadh, no problem.
lesson 45 of book 1 is actually only 241.7kB (very light) a clearer version is 1.7MB. but if you are not comfortable with that, it's ok. i just voiced out my concern because i find it difficult to switch from the wiziq window to the pdf window most of the time during the discussion and specially during the question and answer portion; and if i reduce the window size to fit two windows on my screen, i cant see the entire text for the page; i have to do a mouse scroll.
anyways, i could get used to it, it's just a matter of time.
jazakallahu khair uztaadh.

Wa alykumus-salaam wa rahmatul-llahi wa barakaatuhu,

Alhamdulillah.

Brother Kenshin,

I would like to thank you for your valuable suggestion.

My policy from day one was to open the floor for any meaningful suggestion from the students because improvement can be made when the work is shared.

I have read your above suggestion, and here is my reply:

I am more than happy to upload the pages of each lesson if you can separate them into smaller sizes that can be uploaded to the whiteboard. This will help a lot.

I have already been given a separated file that contained unit five and unit six by one of the students. I uploaded that file when I was teaching those two units.

Now, the total size of that file was little over 6MB. So I believe you could easily fit three units in each file and I can still upload the file to the board, the limit is 10MB.

The total size of book one is 163MB. This mean you could separate the whole book into 18 files of 9MB each. I do not know how long could it take you but it will really be a great boost to the teacher and the students to get these pages on the board.

So you are more than welcome to go ahead with that. And feel free to post any links of the separated lessons that you have. You can also email that to me. My email is on my profile page.

And if separating the whole book is a hard task for you, you can tell me how can I separate the units of each book to make it small enough to be uploaded to the board.

I would like to thank you in advance for any contribution that you bring to the classes.

Your co-operation is much appreciated.

Wa Jazaakal-llahu khaira.

All the best.

As salamu alykum wa rahmatul-llahi wa barakatuhu.

My biography: (Subject to updates)

I am originally a Somali brother, I descend from the tribe of Is-haaq then Habar She'law then Reer Dhaahir. I born and grew up in UAE. I finished my school there, and it was a blessing from Allah that I naturally acquired the Arabic language from my birth in UAE. I learned some English in UAE before I move to UK.

About who I take my knowledge from, as you know by now, I live away from the land of the scholars, and there are no scholars here in UK. So, people like me are forced to settle for other means of seeking knowledge. And that is using materials such as audios and books, as well as making the most of the duroos and dawrahs that are available online. I have signed up for the Al-Baidha institution, which is supervised by shaykh Abu 'Umar Usaamah bin 'Ataaya Al-'Utaibee who is in Madeenah. I have been attending his lesson online for over a year. Here are some subjects that were covered in his institution :

1-Three fundamental principles, did not attend from that start but concluded the explanation of shaykh ibnul-uthaimeen rahimahullah.

2-Manhajus-salalikeen, finished kitaabut-Tahaarah and kitaabus-Salaah.

3-200 questions in aqeedah by Al-Haafith Al-Hakami rahimahullah, I did not attend from the start.

4-Lessons in the Manhaj, from a book authored by shaykh Usaamah himself.

I have also registered on norayn distance learning institution which is based on Ar-Riyyadh in KSA. This institution has been launched by shaykh Saalih bin Muhammad Al-Luhaidaan, who is from the major scholars in KSA. The subjects that I have so far covered with this institution are :

1-Al-Aqeedah Al-Waasityyah, explained by shaykh Sa'd Ash-Shithree (transcript).

2-Nukhbatul-Fikar (written explanation)

3-Forty hadeeths of imam An-Nawawi, abridged explanation of Shaykh Ibnul-'Uthaimeen rahimahul-llah.

More recently, I have signed up with another online institution based in Madeenah. Classes are delivered by Shaykh Haythaam bin Muhammad Sarhaan hafithahul-llah, the teacher at the Al-Masjidun-Nabawee. We so far covered:

1-Four principles, explanation and written test.
2-Three fundamental principles, explanation, oral and written test.
3-Nullifiers of Islam, explanation and written test.

At the moment I am studying these books with Ma'had At-Ta'seel:

1-Kitaabut-Tawheed

Subjects/books I covered under my personal study plan:

1-Explanation of Kashfush-Shubuhaat by Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan hafithahul-llah(book).
2-Explanation of Nullifiers of Islam by Shaykh Saalih Al-Fawzaan hafithahul-llah(book).
3-Sifatus-Salaah by Imam Al-Albaani rahimahul-llah(book).
4-Fiqhul-'Ibaadaat by Shaykh Ibnul-'Uthaimeen rahimahul-llah(book).
5-Tafsir Juz'u 'Amma by Shaykh Ibnul-'Uthaimeen rahimahul-llah(book).
6-Sharhul-Ajjirroomiyyah by Shaykh Ibnul-'Uthaimeen rahimahul-llah(book)
7-Sharhul-Ajjirroomiyyah by Shaykh Muhammad Rslaan hafithahul-llah(audio).
8-Sharh Usoolus-Sunnah of Imam Ahmad by Shaykh Hamad Al-'Uthmaan hafithahul-llah(audio).
9-Purification and cultivation by Shaykh Muhammad Rslaan hafithahul-llah(book).
10-An-Nahw Al-Waadhih vol one for Ali Al-Jaarim&Mustafaa Ameen rahimahumal-llah(book).
11-Principles of the Salafi Manhaj by Shaykh Muhammad Bazmool haifthahul-llah(book).
12-Matnu Tasreefil-Af'aal by Shaykh Muhammad Al-Ethiopee hafithahul-llah(audio).

Subjects/books I am studying now under my personal study plan:

1-Explanation of treatise in principles of Fiqh by Shaykh Abdul-llah Al-Fawzaan hafithahul-llah(audio).
2-Sharh Qatrin-Nadaa by Shaykh Abdul-llah Al-Fawzaan hafithahul-llah(book).
3-Sharh Al-Bayqooniyyah by Shaykh Ibnul-'Uthaimeen rahimahul-llah(audio).
4-Diseases of the hearts and the cure for Shaykh Muhammad Rslaan hafithahul-llah(audio).
5-Matnu Tasreefil-Af'aal by Shaykh Ahmad Al-Haazimee hafithahul-llah(audio).
6-Sharh Qatrin-Nadaa by Shaykh Abdur-Rahmaan Kounee hafithahul-llah(audio).

Also, I have been attending online seminars delivered by salafi scholars such as Shaykh Maahir bin Thaafir Al-QahTaanee hafithahul-llah and other scholars whom their classes or lectures are broadcasted via Sahab.net or Miraath or Salafi Duroos or Beyluxe. (Notice: this section was updated to reflect the regular attending. Taking out names of scholars does not mean I no longer refer to them in matters of knowledge).

Also, I have the explanation of about any essential book you could think of as well as the work of many scholars, either audio or hard copy or electronic copy Wal-hamdulil--llah

I am also in contact with some scholars via the phone walhamdulillah.

I also travel to Birmingham to attend conferences when scholars are invited. And I am in contact with other students of knowledge in UK and other countries wal-hamdulil-llah

Now, I would like to make a clarification here, which I do not claim to be the student of anyone directly. This is because I do not fulfill the conditions of that. I have asked scholars if people like me are excused under the conditions I mentioned above to use tapes and books to seek knowledge, and the answer was yes and it is hoped that they can be called students of knowledge.

Lastly, if you find in my work anything that opposes the Qur'aan and the Sunnah at the understanding of the companions then you should correct me. And may Allah reward he who directs me to my faults.

We ask Allah to grant us the sincerity in our sayings and actions.

Walhamdulillahi Awwalan wa Aakhiran.
